Types of Therapy

At Congruence Therapy, treatment is integrative and tailored to the individual, drawing from the following approaches:

  • Coherence Therapy–Informed,

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)–Informed,

  • Somatic-Based,

  • Nervous System–Informed

Together, these perspectives help us explore the deeper emotional meanings and protective patterns underlying thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while paying attention to how your experiences may also show up in the body and nervous system. Rather than viewing difficult reactions or parts of yourself as problems to eliminate, we approach them with curiosity and compassion, seeking to understand what they may be communicating or protecting.

Our work is also grounded in Experiential and Humanistic Therapy, which means therapy is more than simply talking about what has happened. We pay attention to what emerges in the present moment—emotionally, physically, and relationally—to create opportunities for new understanding and meaningful change. At the center of this work is a genuine, collaborative, and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship that respects your lived experience, values, strengths, and capacity for growth.

  • "Therapy isn't just about feeling better - it's about becoming better at feeling."
